The program begins in Oban, a resort town on the west coast of Scotland. Students then will travel to Stirling, Glasgow, St. Andrews, and then Edinburgh.

Note: Prospective students should be aware that study abroad programs require a great deal of walking. You should be prepared to walk several miles a day.  You may also walk over uneven, possibly slippery or rocky terrain, even in cities. In Edinburgh and Glasgow, public transport and taxis are available if your personal budget permits.

Courses: Students may take 1 course (3 credit hours) in the following:

Classes: Classes will be held at various locations, including museums, local campuses, and onsite at the lodging facilities. Days and hours will vary, depending on individual professors.

Excursions: Excursions may include the Scottish Highlands, Strathmore Highland Games, Beatrix Potter Museum, and several castles including Dunnottar Castle, Inveraray Castle and Linlithgow Palace.

Accommodations: Student accommodation will be in group apartments, same-sex dorm rooms in hostels, or university housing. Each housing facility will be within walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and most major attractions. Taxis, buses, and trains are available for adventures further afield. Some meals are provided at the housing facility.

Program Fee: The program fee is made up of the application fee and program fee (airfare included).  All fees are paid at your home institution. Students are also required to pay a nonrefundable application fee of $100 by February 9. This fee will be paid through your Study Abroad application.
