About the University: The University of Memphis is a fully accredited comprehensive university located in the southwest corner of the state of Tennessee. It offers baccalaureate degrees in more than 70 different areas of study and master's degrees in 49 departments. Doctorates and specialized degrees are available in 14 disciplines. More than 20,000 students representing all 50 states and 69 foreign countries are enrolled here.
Location: Located in a residential area of Memphis, Tennessee, the 18th largest U.S. city, the beautifully landscaped campus is easily accessible to shopping, recreation and entertainment. Known for its musical heritage and cultural traditions, Memphis is a city rich in museums and theatres, fine food as well as casual dining. Annual events and attractions include the Memphis in May International Music Festival, The Beale Street Music Festival, the Mid-South Fair and more. Memphis is also conveniently located to Nashville, St. Louis, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
Public Transportation: The city of Memphis has a limited amount of public transportation. To learn about the bus system, you can go to the MATA website.

University Housing: Students have the option to live in apartment or townhouse style accommodations. The apartments are equipped with kitchen facilities, laundry, wireless internet service, cable television and utilities.
We strongly recommend that students apply for Carpenter Complex housing because it is the only on-campus dormitory that offers extended stay, (i.e. open during fall break, spring break, holidays, etc.) If you choose to stay in a different facility, you will not be able to stay during any official school holidays or breaks.
