The University is situated in a beautiful park-like setting in the state's largest city, conveniently located in an attractive residential area of the city, with nearby shopping, recreation and entertainment.

Public Transportation: The city of Memphis has a limited amount of public transportation. To learn about the bus system, you can go to the MATA website.

Detailed explanation of courses available and how to register can be found with your application materials, or on the University of Memphis Course Catalog website. University Housing: Students have the option to live in apartment or townhouse style accommodations. The apartments are equipped with kitchen facilities, laundry, wireless internet service, cable television and utilities.

We strongly recommend that students apply for Carpenter Complex housing because it is the only on-campus dormitory that offers extended stay, (i.e. open during fall break, spring break, holidays, etc.) If you choose to stay in a different facility, you will be kicked out of the dorms during any official school holidays or breaks. Please go here for a virtual tour of the Carpenter Complex Housing Facility.

International House: Limited spaces are available in the International House, which is a living/learning community that allows international students, exchange students and Americans to live and learn together. The International House is located within the Carpenter Complex.
