Vesalius College Summer Program

Focus on Europe
May 30-July 15

Program Description: Spend six weeks in Brussels this summer experiencing the best of European culture and travel. Through the Focus on Europe program, Vesalius College provides students a unique opportunity in “The Capital of Europe” to take advantage of a wide variety of courses taught in English as well as extracurricular activities, opportunities for exciting internships, and the culturally enriching experience of living with a host family.

Course Information: Students may take one or two of the courses from the following:

1. Introduction to Statistics
2. Mathematics for Business and Economics
3. Modernism and After: A Belgian and European Perspective
4. Introduction to Design 
5. European Portfolio Management
6. European Business Law
7. Management of Art and Culture
8. Introduction to Sports Management 
9. Nations and Ethnicity: Political Conflicts in Europe
10. Difference, Diversity and Migration in the New Europe
11. Topics in European Film History 
12. Lobby in the EU 
13. Internship

Application Instructions: Click "Apply Now" to create a Study Abroad Application. You must complete a Study Abroad Application by March 1 in order to be considered. Additionally, you will need to fill out an ISEP Application by April 15. Instructions on how to apply to ISEP are with the Study Abroad Application materials.

Program Fees: $5,850 + $290 Study Abroad application fee + $60 ISEP application fee

ISEP students will be housed with host families located in the Brussels area. These families are committed to enriching the study abroad experience for students.

Accommodations: Most of the host families are French-speaking, although some are Dutch-speaking. All families have a good command of the English language and are able to communicate effectively with students who have no knowledge of French or Dutch.

Internships, Volunteering, and Service Hours: Vesalius College offers students the opportunity to earn academic credit and professional experience through a unique graded internship program in Brussels. With over 50 internship sponsors in the public and private sectors and with partners such as the United Nations, NATO, ING, UPS, the European Journalism Center, and many more, students acquire professional skills and make important contacts that can propel them into the career of their dreams. Internship participants can earn 3 to 6 US credits, depending on the number of hours worked per week.
