Program Location: Located on the Rhine, Mainz is the capital of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, near Frankfurt. Important media companies have their headquarters in Mainz, but it is also the heart of a major wine-producing region. Mainz combines the advantages of an urban lifestyle with small-town charm. This means a multitude of social and cultural events are conveniently accessible by public transportation, but at the same time, outdoor recreation areas in Rheingau, Rheinhessen, Pfalzer Wald and the World Heritage Site Middle Rhine Valley are always within reach.

Mainz offers courses in the following departments:
  • German
  • Journalism
  • Fine Arts
  • Music
  • Medicine
  • Exercise and Sport Sciences
  • Physics
 Courses are available in English.

Program Dates: The German semester is quite different then the American semester. In general, the fall semester will begin in late October and continue until the end of February. The spring semester begins in late April and continues until the end of July. Dates are subject to change.
