Intensive Spanish Language Course (Curso Intensivo de Español: CIE)
June 21-July 21
Program Description: Spend four weeks studying intensive Spanish in the dazzling capital
of Argentina. Visit acclaimed museums, porteño suburbs, cinemas,
theaters, and tango shows. Sample world-famous steaks and enjoy the
urban lifestyle of Buenos Aires, a city that continuously celebrates its
vibrant traditions and expansive growth. Students on this summer
language program (Curso Intensivo de Español: CIE) offered by
Universidad del Salvador will develop and strengthen their Spanish
communication skills while taking advantage of several field trips that
encourage students to learn about the history, culture, and people of
Argentina.
Course Description: Curso Intensivo de Español (CIE) is a four-week summer program
totaling 100 hours. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 1:30 – 5:30
pm (with coffee breaks every day from 3:30 – 4:00 pm). Spanish language
classes are small, personalized, and offered from the beginning to
advanced levels. The following is a brief outline of the program
schedule:
Day 1: Orientation, Welcome Lunch and Beginning of classes
Day 2: City tour and coursework
Day 3: Coursework and visit to a Museum
Day 6 – 10: Coursework
Day 10: Cinema
Day 13 – 17: Coursework
Day 17: Tango Experience
Day 20 – 24: Coursework
Day 24: Theater play
Day 28 – 29: Coursework
Day 30: End of classes. Final exam.
Language Placement Information: Before arrival, students take Universidad del Salvador’s online
language exam and are interviewed by Spanish evaluators via
video conference. The university then places students in the appropriate
course level (beginning, elementary, low intermediate, high
intermediate) based on the results of the language assessment. Note: The
host institution ultimately determines proficiency level and course
eligibility.
Application Instructions: Click "Apply Now" to create a Study Abroad application. You will need to complete the Study Abroad application by March 1 in order to be considered. In addition to the regular Study Abroad Application, applicants will need to apply to ISEP by April 15. Instructions on how to apply to ISEP are included with the Study Abroad application materials.
Program Fee: $3,500 + $290 Study Abroad application fee + $60 ISEP application fee
Accommodations: Students are placed in residences or homestays according to
availability. Breakfast, coffee breaks, and one daily meal (or meal
stipend) Monday through Saturday are included in benefits.
