Program Description:
This Application is for current J-1 Visa students or scholars who would like to extend their DS-2019. Must be requested 4 months before the program end date.

Eligibility:
  • Program Ended on DS-2019
  • Authorized to stay & work at University of Memphis
Extension Requirements:
  • J-1 Scholar: Max. 5 years
  • J-1 Short Term Student: Max. 6 months
  • Department Permission
Overall Process Timeline:
  • Seek Approval from Supervisor / Hiring Department
  • Complete Extension Request Form
  • Provide an Offer Letter with new program date
  • Process will take 7-10 business days to confirm
  • DS-2019 with new program end date will be distributed.
